Managing and operating the communal heating system with an energy-efficient solution without compromising sustainability and net zero emissions is a significant concern. The rising fuel poverty and energy crisis in the UK lead to poor energy-efficient homes. However, communal heating systems, when adopted, can inspire us with their potential to supply heat across a housing block from a single source, thereby preventing over-utilisation of energy.
However, a “widely spread heating network” comes with its own challenges. How will we track and monitor the heat network remotely? Is there a means to visualise the energy transfer? How can I effectively charge the tenants for the energy consumption rate? The problems are endless, and we present you with a GEM of a solution.
