Our Gem Solutions team have developed ‘Agility’, a heat network monitoring software. This innovative software, hosted in London on AWS, enables asset owners to take control of their district and communal heating networks, manage them more efficiently and significantly reduce carbon emissions, their costs and those of their residents whilst also ensuring regulatory compliance.
As part of the Heat Network Metering and Billing Regulations and the Energy Act 2023, the operators of heat networks must submit notifications for the heat networks they operate and comply with a raft of new regulations from 2025 covering consumer protection, billing and metering and minimum technical performance.
They must, where required, install metering devices on those networks. The reason for the regulations is to drive energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions from heating. As experts in heat networks, we offer consultancy to guide you through this process and mitigate the financial risks of non-compliance. Ofgem will be regulating the sector and will implement a new licensing regime that will be a legal requirement to operate for each network.
